China is NOT Our Friend: The Cox Report

In 2002, I wrote an unpublished three-part series, Red Star Rising: But is Anyone Watching? In the third part, I highlighted the dangers of the Clinton China Most Favored Nation decision on national security by summarizing parts of The Cox Report  of January 3, 1999 or otherwise known as The Select Committee on U.S. National Security and Military/Commercial Concerns with the People’s Republic of China (the reader is encouraged to read the informative report at the link provided above).

Excerpted from Revelation 18 and the Fate of America (2021 Edition), pp 112-113:

The Cox Report decisively revealed that communist  China or the PRC had been involved in intense espionage activities in the United States for a number of decades. However, the U.S. Intelligence Community did not discover such infiltration and theft of highly secret military technology until 1995.

“The People’s Republic of China (PRC),” a declassified overview of the report noted, “has stolen classified design information on the United States’ most advanced thermonuclear weapons.” Such repeated thefts “give the PRC design information on thermonuclear weapons on a par with our own.”

Despite the ease of such systematic thefts by Chinese  spies, the report glumly revealed that our security at national  nuclear weapons labs and our counterintelligence efforts do not even meet minimal standards to prevent such future penetration.

The report also detailed the illegal activities of a number of U.S. corporations, notably Hughes and Loral— with the interference-running of then President Clinton—in the transfer of sensitive technology that has greatly enabled the People’s Liberation Army to develop more efficient and more accurate long-range nuclear missiles that the PLA plans on aiming at the U.S.

On February 2, 1999 a testimony by Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director, George J. Tenet, before the Senate Armed Services Committee, warned of China’s potentially daunting military power of the near future.

“. . . Mr. Chairman,” Tenet cautioned, “we cannot, in focusing on [terrorism], overlook some more traditional concerns in two nations of critical importance to the United States: Russia and China.” Thanks, in part, to the hundreds of billions of dollars of foreign (and largely U.S.) currency flowing freely into China, the PLA was able to support a 17 percent increase in military spending. China’s increase in military spending and preparation has dramatically increased while U.S. military spending and support have dramatically waned during the past decade.

In January of this year, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence released an unclassified version of the CIA’s most recent report titled: Foreign Missile Developments and the Ballistic Missile Threat Through 2015. The report is sobering and frank.

“The Intelligence Community [IC],” it stated in part, “projects that Chinese ballistic missile forces will increase several-fold by 2015, but Beijing’s future ICBM [Inter- Continental Ballistic Missile] force [will be] deployed primarily against the United States—which will number around 75 to 100 warheads—will remain considerably smaller and less capable than the strategic missile forces of Russia and the United States.”

In over twenty years of dealing with China as our Permanent Normal Trade Relations partner, America has gained nothing. Except  China continues to strengthen its economic and military strength over the U. S.; infiltrate America’s businesses, military and the willing politicians in Washington, D.C., while pilfering America’s sensitive military weapons and defenses, and establishing a firm foothold on American soil through real estate and business purchases and ventures.

So, in over 25 years since the release of The Cox Report, what have our political and military leaders learned and achieved in an effort to protect America and Americans from one of our most formidable enemies? NOTHING!  Absolutely nothing!  Our nation has been thoroughly infiltrated by the Chinese (PRC) and its military operatives. China has completely moved into our Western Hemisphere; established military bases and seaports; secured many of our allies as their trading partners; continue to steal our military and corporate secrets; establish firm footholds in the Continental U.S. through land ownership, economic and residential (China-only) development zones; ship in thousands of uninspected shipping containers that are distributed throughout the U.S.; send hundreds of thousands of their citizens into our nation illegally and flood our country with millions of doses of the very addictively and deadly drug, fentanyl.

As if that is not enough, China controls—thanks to U.S. politicians, America’s corporate CEOs, greedy stockholders and a mostly ignorant public that glamor for cheap products—almost all of our electronics production, pharmaceuticals, toy production, and the list is unending.  Even much of the food we now consume comes from Chinese operated farms and factories either in the U.S., China or elsewhere under Chinese control.

The ultimate goal is to destroy America.  If not militarily, then economically, politically, socially and spiritually from within the country and from afar.  One of China’s most recent moves is to spearhead the destruction of the U.S. Dollar as the global reserve currency and they are well on their way to achieving that very soon with the full support of our nation’s enemies, and there are many.

Another Nail in America’s Coffin?

With the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the break-up of its satellite nations, Ukraine inherited the third largest stockpile of nuclear weapons, including 1,900 strategic nuclear weapons, thanks to the destruction of the communist bloc.  The United States and the West were not comfortable, nor was Russia, with Ukraine harboring such a dangerous cache of destructive military material.

However, under guarantees from Russia, Britain and the United States for its safety, on December 5, 1994, Ukraine signed the Budapest Memorandum.  This obligated the U.S., Britain and Russia to respect Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty and borders and to “refrain from the threat or use of force.”

In exchange, Ukraine would give up all its nuclear stockpile, with the remaining nukes given to Russia in 1996.

Of course, Russia and Vladimir Putin violated that agreement in 2014 with the takeover of the Crimea.  The United States and Briton remained silent and unmoved, thus signaling their silent consent and giving Putin the “green light” for further aggression.  However, Putin’s plans were allayed by President Trump’s administration.

With the election of Joe Biden as the new U.S. leader, Putin knew he had a weak adversary and had the upper hand.  He knew the West would institute sanctions, but knew he could count on China who has its own territorial ambitions.  Sanctions mean nothing to tyrants and dictators.  Just look at Iran, North Korea and Venezuela as examples.

Despite repeated pleas from the president of Ukraine, the U.S. has reneged on its security guarantees for the Ukraine.  Putin has called the West’s bluff and won.  What will prevent him from breaching the boundaries of other former Soviet satellites?  What deterrents does the West have left?

America has abdicated its position as a world leader.  It can no longer be trusted to follow through on its commitments.  It is no longer a respected world power and tyrants smell blood in the water.

God forgive us for yet another sin against humanity.
