Are You Prepared?

Recently, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released its February, 2011 unemployment estimate of 8.9%, down slightly from January’s 9.0%.  It was, of course, trumpeted by the Obama administration and in-the-fold economists as positive proof the economy is on the mend.  But is it?  Are we being told the truth?  It appears we are not, on a number of issues. Politicians’ AIG Outrage Rings Hollow

I’m not sure what is more sickening, the audacity of AIG in the midst of near bankruptcy to pay out $165 million in bonuses, or the politicians in Washington falling all over themselves rushing to the podium to proclaim their outrage over such bonuses.

Where was their outrage when they were freely using taxpayer billions to bailout the mis-managed corporate money-grabbers?  Where was their outrage when they gladly accepted their automatic raises as a reward for leading this country into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression? Obama’s Ponzi Scheme

No doubt you have heard about the recent conviction of Bernard Madoff, the Wall Street guru who swindled an estimated $50 billion from investors around the world – many who were certainly smart enough to make their own fortunes but decided to turn the management of some or all of their fortunes over to Madoff.   Madoff in turn used a sophisticated Ponzi scheme to give investors the illusion of increased wealth. Am I imagining things or are all the financial idiots living in Washington, DC?  Let me ask you a question:  If you were in personal financial trouble what would you choose to do? A) Borrow more money to pay off your old debt.  B)  Borrow money from your enemies to pay off your debt.  C) Drastically cut yor expenses.  D)  Print as much fake money as you could to pay your debt.  E) Demand your neighbors, friends and relatives pay you for doing nothing to improve their lives.
